Regular Drug Provision to Accredited Facilities
Sustained supply of drugs to partnering facilities through adequate funding and effective monitoring of the OSHIA Drug Distribution Centre (DDC).
Distribution of Multimillion-Naira Medical Equipment
Free distribution of high-value medical equipment to OHIS-accredited government facilities to improve the quality of care for enrollees.
Staff Capacity Building
Ongoing training and retraining programmes to ensure optimal staff performance and improved service delivery.
Support for Catastrophic Medical Conditions
Major financial support for high-cost medical conditions, including:
Renal transplants for six patients
Complete hip replacement for one patient
Numerous other catastrophic health cases
Free Medical & Surgical Outreach (Rotary International Collaboration)
In partnership with Rotary International, OSHIA provided free medical and surgical services to 1,950 beneficiaries across the state.
Enrollment of Pensioners into OHIS (Free of Charge)
More than 23,000 pensioners enrolled into OHIS at no cost, with access to free medical and surgical care.
Enrollment of Persons Living with HIV (PLHIV)
Over 500 PLHIV enrolled into OHIS free of charge.
Enrollment of Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs)
A total of 9,500 PWDs—including the physically challenged, spinal cord injury patients, the deaf, dumb, blind, and albinos—enrolled free of charge.
Provision of Assistive Devices for PWDs
Distribution of essential life-aid gadgets such as wheelchairs, crutches, walking sticks, hearing aids, visual aids, UV-protective items, spinal cord support packs, and more. Some PWDs will also receive free surgeries.
Statewide School Eye Health Initiative
Successful screening of over 450,000 students in public primary and secondary schools.
45,120 students diagnosed with eye issues
80% received treatment (medication, corrective lenses)
20% underwent necessary surgeries
Enrollment of Correctional Inmates
For the first time in Nigeria, OSHIA enrolled 1,200 inmates from the Ilesa and Ile-Ife Correctional Centers into OHIS.
Both facilities are now accredited and receiving capitation, guaranteeing continuous healthcare access.
Support to the Central Pensioners Association
OSHIA funded the drilling of a borehole at the Pensioners’ Secretariat, ensuring access to clean, safe water for elderly citizens.
Economic Empowerment for PWDs
Distribution of Point-of-Sale (POS) machines to PWDs to enhance financial independence and livelihood opportunities.
Provision of a 4D Fully Automated Ultrasound Machine
Upgrade of diagnostic services at the State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro, through the supply of a high-end, fully automated 4D ultrasound machine—the best of its kind in the region.
Upward Review of Capitation Rates
Capitation increased from ₦570 to ₦700, making Osun State the highest-paying health insurance agency in Southwest Nigeria and strengthening provider engagement and service quality.
